Product Information

Cordobond is a two-component epoxy resin and consists of a unique composition of resin and hardener. After combining the two components a chemical reaction occurs, resulting in a thermos hardening resin that is capable of hardening using its own heat. This prevents shrinkage and layer thickness remains at 100%. When used on polyester, however, some shrinkage might occur due to the evaporation of solvents that are used as hardener in the polyester.

By its specific structure the product is vapour tight, which in fact entails that it is also gas-tight, making it a perfect conservation method. Its excellent adhesion qualities guarantee perfect adhesion on steel, concrete, glass, wood, ceramics and synthetic materials, with the exception of P.P. and P.E. After hardening and any mechanical treatment Cordobond can be completely painted over. Hardening takes place at room temperature (cold-welding). Therefore it is not required to add extra heat to ensure hardening.

The hardening process is related to the temperature of the environment of the surface. Raising the temperature results in a shorter duration of hardening, lowering the temperature results in an extended hardening process. Therefore, the hardening process can take anywhere from a few hours to a full day.

Description
Cordobond Standard is a two-component, fluid multifunctional repair product, consisting of a modified epoxy resin and activator.

Use
Cordobond Standard can be used during each phase in the naval and processing industry. In combination with glass cloth or tyre it can be used for amination, reinforcement and repairs. Cordobond Standard is resistant to water, oil, alcohol, most acids and bases and all types of pollution. Cordobond Standard adheres excellently to almost all substrates, such as steel, wood, glass ceramics and synthetic materials, with the exception of P.P. (Polypropylene) and P.E. (Polyethylene). Cordobond Standard does not conduct electricity, is not magnetic, it is corrosion proof and resistant to temperature changes.

Composition
Cordobond Standard Resin consists of two components, Resin and Activator, both packaged separately. The Resin tin is partially filled so that the Activator can be added and mixed together

Mixture
It is important that Cordobond Standard is mixed together well; otherwise it will not fully harden.

Description
Cordobond Putty is a powerful two-component epoxy resin with a putty-like structure. After mixing Activator (hardener) and Resin an exothermic reaction takes place. This results in a thicker substance. After hardening the material is a strong as iron. Cordobond Putty is not magnetic and does not conduct electricity.

Use
Cordobond Putty repairs tears, holes, cracks, flaws and other defects in steel and other metals. It also adheres to wood, pottery etc. Metal parts that are treated with Cordobond are extremely resistant to corrosion. Corroded mortises can be filled with Cordobond Putty. After hardening they can be re-drilled or mortised. Extra reinforcement can be achieved by covering the material with Cordobond Resin and glass fiber.
