Cordobond is a two-component epoxy resin and consists of a unique composition of resin and hardener.
After combining the two components a chemical reaction occurs, resulting in a thermos hardening resin
that is capable of hardening using its own heat.
This prevents shrinkage and layer thickness remains at 100%. When used on polyester, however,
some shrinkage might occur due to the evaporation of solvents that are used as hardener in the polyester.
By its specific structure the product is vapour tight, which in fact entails that it is also gas-tight, making it a perfect conservation method. Its excellent adhesion qualities guarantee perfect adhesion on steel, concrete, glass,
wood, ceramics and synthetic materials, with the exception of P.P. and P.E. After hardening and any
mechanical treatment Cordobond can be completely painted over. Hardening takes place at room temperature
(cold-welding). Therefore it is not required to add extra heat to ensure hardening.

The hardening process is related to the temperature of the environment
of the surface. Raising the temperature results in a shorter duration of hardening, lowering the temperature results in an extended hardening process. Therefore, the hardening process can take anywhere from a few hours to a full day. |
